Re: Pre made Characters
Characters with a gimmick I guess, I class as 'spawn defect'. (Yeah, sorry, typo.) The disabled, the ones spawned thinking they are an animal, can't read or speech problems. Over all I done 2 out of 11 characters and was just a girl that spawned bald.

ah 'defect', I was confused also by the 'defeat'. Thanks for the clarification.

Re: Pre made Characters
Most of my characters have some weird gimmick.
Two have accents.
One can hardly talk at all.
One is illiterate.
One is tone-deaf, though I'm not sure that classifies as a gimmick. :p
One is a mild schizophrenic, though probably nobody knows that, since it's environmentally and circumstantially triggered.
The other two are normal, I suppose.

Re: Pre made Characters
Several of my characters have accents, or differ in how they speak - one speaks properly, with little to no slang, and does not curse. Another time swear up and down, another is prone to dramatic outbursts and colorful (but inoffensive) language, and yet another will not use contractions. It helps me, personally, to differentiate between characters and personalities.
As for defects... not generally. The closest I've come is with two characters - one spawned normally, but in a dead town, and wandered for 10 or so years before finding another person. By that time, I played the character as fairly feral and animalistic, given that her only contact had been with animals and potatoes. The other character I played as mentally handicapped, but not exactly autistic - capable of learning and adapting, but not witty or entirely cognitive. Essentially, he was an adult child, who gradually grew out of that stage.

Re: Pre made Characters
Oh yes, that reminds me. One of mine (already mentioned above) does not use contractions. And she doesn't like using possessive forms of nouns either, but there's not much of a way to get out of that without sounding awkward.
Right now, I'd say my childlike char is my favourite to play. I was hesitant to make that char (at the time I thought six was too many, so why overburden myself with seven?) but it definitely pays off. I get SO much enjoyment from that character.
