MUST LIMIT ANIMAL TRAVEL HOURS to just one time a day so I don't log into to seeing just buffalos roam. Damn. It brings my hopes up that Cantr would be noizy but not in this method.

I have to say that the swedish enviroment is going down because of all the aggressive animals. It's sad as it was really beginning to take off but I guess people loose interest seeing their characters die before they can organize some kind of protection against the beasts.

I know wot u mean bear, the dutch environment may be old, it ain't that strong. Not everybody has a weapon. Especially in the woods, where there are like 15 bears in 1 place, everybody just runs to safer places. But the fact is, there hardly are any safe places. Almost everywhere there are agressive animals.

Like in Sil now, we suddenly got bears. Luckely some of us are well armed, but the bears are really strong. Let's see how many deaths this brings.

i could only imagine the destruction in the swedish area the aki island is coping it bad enough as it is and that's older so most char's i've ran into there atleast have a wooden sheild but it doesn't help when ya have 4 people facing a dozen or more bear's or wolves and you can only hit 1 of them when they can hit each of you

Wooden shields really suck when animals attack you.
You almost always lose some damage, at least I mostly did.

Iron shields are way better. A wild boars just attacked me, and it did me no damage. Hopefully it was not a miracle, but at leasts it gives me hope to go outside again. Bummer that there are 11 wild boars now, all wanting to attack me

Guess you swedisch guys are in a lot of trouble. At least we (dutch pple) got some houses are boats to seek shelter.

Bummer, iron shields are really effective. Especially against animals.

I know of 2 people on my section of Aki island with iron shields, and they're just lucky they got to the iron a week or so before it turned to hematite. No more iron shields for a while.

Tell them to keep track of history. They may be the only ones left to record it.

I have some ideas on how to cope without iron shields but you will hear all that in game.

There hasn't been any history in their part of Aki.

I hear there's big complicated communities on other parts of the continent (OOC i hear this, not IC) but my char is 24 and has seen maybe 10 people his whole life. Some of whom were killed by hosses and boars later.

I think a large part of the problem is the fact that animals don't eat. In real life, a pack of 8 wolves could not survive in a forest with no other animals (as they are predators, and carnivores). This problem is compounded by the fact that the area system lumps all resources, people and animals in the centre, so the people cannot avoid the aggressive herbivores. However I can't see a solution to that without an entirely new game. So just reduce aggressive animals, let them be attacked individually, or make them attack each other *grins at image of packs of wolves descending on the pelicans that marr his life* On second thoughts, just the last one  hahahahahahahahaha....

Yups Ilithar thats kinda wot we mentioned be4.

I think:

* Animals should be devided in different herdes. Like 3 herdes containing out 5 bears.
That way you can only reduce the animals by attacking herdes seperatly when they are heavilly populated in 1 area and dus there are more herdes.

* There should be a max. number of animals that can survive in a place. If there were 2 many, there wouldn't be enough food for all of them, so they would either seek other places, or they would just starve of hunger.

* Animals should not be able to attack pple individually. When there are 15 bears in a place, all 15 will most likely attack you.

* Animals, especially agressive animals should not populate as fast as they do now.
