Now I know who plays DaVinci...I think.
This should probably go into suggestions, really, but I've been thinking we really ought to be able to look at a fresh corpse and tell what it died of within limitations. I mean, IRL, you can usually tell if someone died of violence (visible wounds), starvation (emaciation), or the plague (nasty boils), though some things would be less obvious. (Not that i have personal experience of identifying corpses. Feel free to argue)
As it is, it's really frustrating, that unless you happenened to look at a character really closely, shortly before they died, or happened to witness an attack, you've no idea what Killed them.
Nevertheless, some of my characters have been noticing a curious phenomenon. They've been checking someone's strength etceteras closely because they saw an animal attack that person, figuring that person didnt get badly damaged, then seeing them keel over and die the next day. One or two of them have come up with the theory that the animals are carrying plague to account for this. But they didn't see any sneezing. Nothing.
Or maybe it was just inactivity..or starvation (would that show?)... and coincidence? I must admit it hasn't happened like that to anybody they actually knew... not yet
