I remember it took me like two days to be able to make characters in the main world. Your Genesis character stays in Genesis. I still have my Genesis character, after 4 years.

What kind of a non-answer is that?

20 years ago there were no windows and you couldn't tame animals and there were more mass murderers because a strong char could drag almost anyone by themselves. Off the top of my head...

Back from a long away, like I do regularly. And running into the same issues as before after a "few days".
The game has potential, but not in its current state. Is this still running for old players, or is there a wish to attract new ones?
Because, to attract new players that stay: wipe regularly; if the idea is to entertain long time players, please, just continue.
Where ever you spawn things are there. There is no survival challenge anymore. On top of that, the older characters are ruling with an iron fist. Yes, also the ones that are friendly, helpful and such. If you do not follow their expected behaviour, there is no room for the new player.
The crafting menu is overwhelming and difficult to go through, lots of options and variations which is nice though.

I was feeling similar when I came back. More on the fact that there isn't much variance in societies (lots of challenges there, more player based though).
I do have a character just barely surving. Horses helped a lot though.
I would love to have another server with a new map and a fresh start, but it would take some dedicated volunteers to develop.
I, for one, think the building menu is easy enough. But I've heard others complain about it.

Re: Welcome, New Players! (or Welcome Back, Old Players!)
Hello everyone.
Hope things are good with everyone around here. I played years ago. And always find myself missing it. Tried to come back once and it didnt pan out. Now more years have passed and I miss playing. Still debating but wanted to look around the forums to see how active the game is. I liked the simming aspect of the game more than the role playing as that always was a bit awkward for me. I hate to create a new character only to decide that i'm not going to put in the effort in the game. If I recall I have to wait for activation again so might do that then give it a day or so to see

to some of these folks complaining, as you all know each game is different and you cant tell where you would spawn.
there are lots of open unpopulated regions especially on the largest island think called FU for those wanting to have the cantr pioneering survival experience to build up towns from scratch because there isnt much in terms of players nor development. so you'll be scrounging and hauling resources around manually to build all the needed buildings and processing equipment to forge iron etc. This is often a very tough area for new players who dont know what to do to and step by step what to construct. but those complaining about the survival experience should feel right at home.
then you might end up on an already developed town with lots of helpful players who give you free clothing and even constant food when you sleep, but nobody is going to run your life and tell you what to do, you would likely need to start showing some initiative too in forming a business, trading or traveling too eventually. none know your goals, you'd need to talk to the townsfolk and describe your goals to see who can aid/advise/mentor you where but again none will want to run your life like a tutorial with non-stop instructions and jobs. well, you might find places like that too actually.
however the point is each area is different, if your character isnt having fun, move on to another area etc. its also not the job of other players to create fun for you. its a sandbox game. a create your own adventure.
