Might be a more even playing field... as less people are likely to know it fluently?

Well, I think the playing field is already quite even, because we have both players with good language knowledge and no language knowledge at all score well.
However, I do intend to write a riddle in Esperanto before long, just because it's so easy to do so. Esperanto words are borrowed mostly from Romance and Germanic languages, so some people might still have an advantage, if there are particularly many words they can recognize from their native language or a language they learned. I think Finnish would be a great playing field as it is unrelated to all European languages except Hungarian and there are probably not many people who learned Finnish here.
