Dates Of amjor incedents In drojf

Postby Dougb » Fri Nov 19, 2004 7:24 pm

I want information (that I don't quit remember) about the history of the Drojf/Krif Area. Does anyone know the time period of when Maily Yumm started her rule and ended it?
Does anyone know when The nosse was started?
Does anyone know when The macgragor clan was formulated?
What about the 3 massacares in Krif?(empiror Jacobs included)
I would also like to know about the Smoke Jaguars...(that may be too far back) I had just joined when that had ended.

Thanks
Dougb

You do reallize that using info from here in your history book would be a massive breach of the Capital Rule...

Have your char travel to Seatown Forest, and look for info there, and return back south, asking the different leaders, and older people around, about the bygone ages, visit the libraries in Krif and Drojf and browse through their notes... and why not, visit the Mac Gregors yourself to find out about their origins....Learn the history IC and behave like a true historian by doing your own research.

If you RP thoroughly it will be a by far more rewarding experience than simply taking the info from the forum...so move your butt and unravel the mysteries of past and present.

That's going to be one messed up history...the best you can do, of course...but from what I've heard here, the assembled history of the region is going to contradict itself at least two ways on every important point.

Not that that's stopped me trying.

I hate to quote Hitler but "history is written by the victors" that was part of one of his speaches. True though, the victors are the only ones left to write.

'History is written by the victors' Quite true but I've never heard it be attributed to Adolf Hitler.

A similar quote is "History is written by those who hang heroes."

The truth in Cantr however is more like "History is written by those who enjoy the atmosphere and like to contribute to it in another way than by harvesting potatoes"

Yeah, guy, check In character for any knowledge you may need. Checking out Gregor's memoires and The Ranger's Tale are good ideas. Gregor's Memoires are fundamentally biased, as is The Ranger's Tale (by John Locke) [has some good stuff on Maily Yumm]. Also, there are libraries to investigate. Glen's novels are more about adventures...but yeah historically...that's all I have to say on the matter.

That's what makes a good historian, getting info from all sources and distilling the truth out of it.

There was more then that counting Simmons...

1. c. 300--Craktar and his workers kill the council and one or two others who said something about it.
2. c. 450?--Craktar plays "vampire"
3. 530--Simmons and others die "suddenly"
4. 556--Brian and Rick kill many while Maynard is in Drojf meeting with Gregor, Mailly and Vendor.
5. 630?--Valentine and 2 others attack killing a few before being killed themselves.

How many times do I need to stress that Glen's stories are not historical novels, but rather some Von Munchausen-like interpretation of facts. Besides that it doesn't include that much of infor about the region, besides an interview with a vampire...sorry, I just got carried away....an interview with Maynard.

Just to clarify something: Glen at one point claims magical powers...well that relates to a bug ... he killed two people, but it never showed up in the events list. But the people were dead nonetheless. Glen claimed that it was his magic that did the trick.

I think he could conquer the entire region just with his ego :)
I like him from an OOC view though...just because I get so irritated when I interact with him.
