Time Zone Change

Postby TheTheorist » Wed Nov 17, 2004 1:04 pm

Well now Cantr seems to be running in Eastern Time (US & Canada)

Why's that changed?

If it was a mistake then I'll let it go but otherwise I can see myself goin off on one. America is not the centre of the universe... It should be GMT as it was.

Cantr is running in Cantr-time - what are you talking about? :)

I think perhaps he's talking about the change in times when the turn executes? I know that's a real pain in the ass, I'm not used to it yet. It was simple. 3, 6, 9, 12, 3, 6, 9, 12, etc.

The numbers you have are long outdated, Anthony :) ...

It used to be that the server runs when the clock changes an hour (or in fact, it changed right after the turn change). Nowadays, the turn changes are run by separate processes, independent of the clock. I did not alter the times those processes run during hte past weeks, but the clock and the time reset are not handled by a new program.

So, the Cantr time has moved a bit, but the actually processing of projects, sailing, etc. should not have moved. Yet.

I was also gone for a good month, I've just noticed the change in turn times recently (When it was pointed out to me, actually.) :(
