We want to upgrade our server, but this is going to be expensive. Both the transfer, and the higher monthly costs. Please consider donation to Cantr! Most people can miss $5 a month for a game they play for hours a week ;) ...

Nobody can. It's at the bottom of the logged in page. Just do it when the game is working again.

You had a Yahoo Paydirect donation feature before, and it's gone now. I had been trying to get a functioning account set up for that...

How much to upgrade the server? I'm not going to pay, i would, but i have no steady income (no job) and i have no credit card. But, the most i would do is like someone who lives near me(very unlikely) who has a credit card, i would pay them to pay you, but i don't see that happening.
I was not intoxicated while I wrote this.

I think Jos mentioned about another £40 per month, plus an extra £50 at least for the time when we actually move.

I think it's a bit more than that. The move itself will cost us $174 and the monthly costs will rise from $75 to $99.

Yes, I removed it because nobody ever used it and I understand Yahoo! is about to end this service. If you want to use it, however, just contact me and we'll work it out.

How much for a better server? Is that included in the montly $99.

It could be nice to do a funraiser. There is like 750 players right? Well not everyone have credit cards like Spider said, but someone Spider knows would gladly particate in purchasing something they want or need to benefit something for Spider if they could pay with checks or money orders right?

Well, if all 750 players.....not even all lets say 500 players purchased or got someone to purchase a retail item that they liked for say $15. After paying for the item wholesale Cantr would profit 8$

500 X 8 = $4500

Not bad right? Well, lets say only 250 particapated and not only did they purchase something, but they got a friend and a family member to buy a $15 item as well.

750 X 8 = $6000

And I've know people to buy more than $15 worth. Not just cause they wanted to get stuff for Christmas, but because they want to help you. I know I can get at least two people including myself to purchase something.

The numbers add up quickly :) I feel donating is not all I can do and to me it isn't enough. I know there are others who feel this way and would gladly make a purchase.

If interested in details PM me.

Looking over the "suggested donations" thing...
Seems things are a little on the high-side to me.
I can understand that Cantr needs money, which is great, but considering what you get for most subscription games that seek/charge $10/month, I feel funny paying even $5/month. I understand that the fees on $2-$2.5 a month might make such a donation meaningless, might it just be better to make a yearly donation of $25 in cases like mine?

Well, two things:
1) you can always feel free to make a one-time donation if that suits you better, or:
2) I can always set up a specific recurrent subscription and email you the details, so you discuss any monthly amount or other period.

I personally prefer 2, because that will give us a better idea of what money we can count on for the next months. Just contact me or finances@cantr.net for any type of donation that deviates from the options given on the player page..
