Cantr Afterlife

Postby SekoETC » Wed Oct 13, 2004 11:53 pm

I was thinking, maybe there could be a place for dead characters to go to? It could be just a forum. At the moment all you can do is talk about your dead characters with your buddies OOC but you can't play them anymore. So practically we know there is no afterlife. Creepy, isn't it? All the ingame thoughts about meeting old friends again are false... Well if there was a Dragonlance style place, Grayness was it called or what? *scratches head* Anyway, but there you could sign up the moment you lose a character, or later if you feel like it, and communication would not be limited to the location you died in, everyone could talk to each other freely. Mainly meeting the old friends but maybe even a chance to see the ones you could never meet in life? What do you think? There are a lot of forum templates out there but I think there should be information about the character, where he/she died, where he/she mostly stayed, who is he/she waiting and so on.

I'd like that. A big empty area with no houses or items, no need for food or anything, just names (not dynamic!) where people could talk to each other. Maybe there'd be different ones depending on how old you were when you died.

levels of heaven/hell etc.

it would be interesting, if only to see how attitudes to religion change in game. OOC influence atm tells most players that there is not likely to be an afterlife RL and definately not one in Cantr. I wonder how many characters might become religious or believe in afterlife if there actually was somewhere to go

Not likely to be implemented... loads of work and loads of resource-use.

Yes, but... one of us could start a free ezboard and do it that way. Completely unofficial and fun... :P

Gives an easier-than-this-forum way of leaking all those secrets that were taken to the grave :?

Ha. I guess the problem is that I assume that only the mature people would join...

Or, just have a forum like this where people act like their old characters...

Just have a section of the Cantr forums for RPing the dead

I think if your character dies you should grieve it and move on.

p.s., Not saying that it isn't horrible, because it is.

:( Ok, I know you have to move on after a while, but some of the dead may feel troubled for going so fast. And it's hard not to try communicating with the living then, which is a breach. (Referring to Maryan starring in a hallusination short after her death.)

I've heard a lot about that (even first hand IG) but I still have no idea what happened... Can someone enlighten me on how exactly Maily Yumm "spoke" from the dead. It's been 4 days... or does this involve game bug exploitation?
