Questions regarding boats
Hello!
I am kinda new in this game and I have some questions which I couldn't find answers.
1. What machinery can you build in cabins and on deck (i.e. anvils, cooking places, furnace, etc.)
2. How many boats can be docked to a bigger boat?
3. Can you transport vehicles via bigger boats like galleon or ferry? If so how do you do that? If not, why isn't it implemented yet? (seems reasonable in my opinion).
That's all for now. Maybe later on I might have some more questions.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Questions regarding boats
Hello Gorian - welcome to Cantr. Like you, I'm relatively new to the game, but I can answer at least one of these questions... the other two, I'm not sure about.
Q3. Can you transport vehicles via bigger boats like galleon or ferry? If so how do you do that? If not, why isn't it implemented yet? (seems reasonable in my opinion).
A3. No, not currently. I'm not sure why it hasn't been implemented yet - staff would need to speak to it. What a lot of players will do is bring along materials to construct a simple vehicle that they don't care about "throwing away" - e.g. a rickshaw or tandem bike.

Re: Questions regarding boats
1. This isn't very well documented anywhere unfortunately. It might be something we will add to the wiki at some point in the future. I've gone by trial and error myself many times when I had the need for a machine on a ship.
2. There is no fixed number that limits docking.
3. This has been discussed many times, there are topics for it in the suggestion forum. At the moment you can only bring vehicle parts and assemble them at the target location.

Re: Questions regarding boats
On 1, it's usually the very big or heavy machines that can't be build on a ship, heavy as in anvil's or stuff like that, and big as in a large rope machine and the like...
Oh, wait, I found this:
http://wiki.cantr.net/index.php/Categor ... n_vehicles
I'm not sure if it has all machines that can't be built in cabins, but at least it's most of them, I think.

Re: Questions regarding boats
That was the wiki category I was looking for but couldn't find.
Could have sworn it was a separate one for ships and cabins but I might remember wrong. I'll have a look at it some day and check against the database for accuracy.

Re: Questions regarding boats
I have checked this category now, and it is accurate after a couple of additions I made.

Re: Questions regarding boats
Can you not cancel docking when docking to the shore? This really sucks guys, I started docking by mistake when I need to be headed out to sea.

It depends on how close you are, if you are very close you can't cancel the docking. Maybe 2 ticks away or less. Maybe.

Re: Questions regarding boats
I might be like that, I'm not sure. I just know I can cancel docking to harbors fine but not to the beach.

I think you can until you reach 75%. Or something like that.

Re: Questions regarding boats
I have another question regarding boats. If I have a boat docked to a bigger one (A sloop and a raker, for example), and I store the cargo in the sloop, will that weight hinder the speed of the raker? (i.e would it count as stored in the raker?)

Re: Questions regarding boats
I think it does count, as well as the weight of the sloop itself.

Re: Questions regarding boats
The intention is that everything, people and what they carry, docked ships and what they carry, and their cabins and what they carry etc, should add to the weight of the main vessel and affect speed. I can not vouch for what the code actually does, but that's the intention.
