Seal

Postby The Industriallist » Sun Sep 26, 2004 3:11 pm

Well, the long-discussed seal is now present in the list of buildable tools.

I have to ask, even though chances are no one will answer, because they hate people without lots of iron  ...does it do anything?

*shrugs* I guess we will have to find out in game.
Or of course just look it up in a dictionary and find the best meaning

Based on the resources used, I was assuming that it was seal as in "object used to make impressions in sealling wax". Though I souppose there are some other possibilities...

But at least the question "does it do anything?" deserves an answer I would say.
Don't have to tell me what it does...

If one of your chars has a Fire Place, you should know what it is used for.

Maybe its because its so easy to fake envelope seal in the game right now. I can seal an envelope Jos Elkink no problem... Im sure you or any other regular can too.

But nobody would EVER use that to sow confusion in the game, or alter sensitive documents, WOULD they?

I hope not, since in a big fight where statements like that got censored and much direction to be quiet was spoken, it was said that to make use of that apparant feature was to exploit a bug, and thus be a bad, bad person.

I used it once, long before that ruling was extracted. But now that it's been said...don't do that.

I know what you're talking about, but I can still only guess the function of the seal. Do you need a machine to use it? Does it have an activation button? what can you seal?

Probably no one should answer those questions, though. Evil though it may be.

I dont like how whenever I see a thread like this saying that there is a new item, everyone rushes to make it. I have seen people in six towns that my characters are in make one right away!! is that considered a CR breach??

Yes and no. Yes being if they got the information from this forum rather than in game it is a CR breach. No being that how do we prove or disprove their reasons for making it.

It happens all the time and there isn't really anything that can be done except don't do it yourself.

If I had had a character waiting to find out how to make a bow in the brave new world, you can bet I'd do it right away. As for the seals...that's there choice. I bet they're going to regret it though...those things were costly I think.
