Apparently there is a play by mail option under hotseat. I haven't checked that yet though, but it would be slow paced for sure.

Re: Cantr II -- Civilization V Mod
Civ IV had something called PittBoss where a server ran the game and people connected to take their turn and then could exit the game if they wanted. There was website, i think fan made, that would show whose turn it was and what round they were on. I really wish they would have done this with Civ V. It was in their plans, but it seems like one of those things that's too late to matter now.

Re: Cantr II -- Civilization V Mod
i play civ 5 hardcore the past few weeks actually, pulling all nighters, i wonder if it and cantr will one day be classed as narcotics.
that aside i am uncertain what civ would be good to represent the plaekur peninsula, germany? or prehaps the mongols? having been there for the expansion and subsequent reorganisation i have seen cities 'razed' lands absorbed etc... has a long turmulous history beforehand lol
there is what is now the lenai alliance centered around the same city as a previous republic with a small break in between. used to have knights but seem to have faded, i should mention that i have no expansions or extra dlc's besides the above mentioned so i may not have a full concept of which civ to use for them..
there is also shortinazy, a civ that expanded into the mountains under very strict rule but, i recall no warring on other neighbours just a history of internal conflicts
if you want older no longer existant civs, there was the sjoftich empire that spanned briefly a massive number of cities streaching from sjoftich down the the blaman straits etc...
also the old commonwealth which i dont know if anything came back but i saw it basically fade from existance some time ago.
i also am clueless on what has happend in the Baaak Confederacy since my last char was exhiled from the territory lol formed through the cooperation of millitary and entrepeneurs at its peak their territorial claim included MOST of all the lands north of the pok mountains up to the dhs... russia?
