Weapons...
I looked around and couldn't find a topic on this already, though I could have just missed it. I don't understand how the skill and strength settings in the game work with weapons, and I guess I don't really understand how to tell which weapon would be better for you to carry depending on your fighting skill and strength. Bit of help? Thanks!

Re: Weapons...
If strength is higher than skill, then battle axe, if vice versa, then crossbow.

So if you have high skill and strength, is that when the swords come in? I don't mean to be a pest, I guess I just really don't understand how it works. Tried to use the wiki to figure it out, but I guess I'm not smart enough!

Re: Weapons...
Each weapon has a skill weight, shown in the wiki.
If the weapon has 40% skill weight, then the outcome of an attack will be worked out using 40% of your skill, 60% of your strength, I believe.
If it has 80% skill weight, you're going to outrightly suck big time, using it as a novice or awkward fighter.
Picture it as swinging an axe doesn't need much skill, but it won't hurt much if you are stick thin like most of my characters.
If you want to shoot someone with a crossbow, you don't need so much strength, but you better be a skilled aimer.
the weapons have a lot of variety in between, so you could try different balances over time, to find your ideal.
If someone wishes to correct me, please do. I've only ever used my trusty waster.

3431-5.19: You novicely kill a badger using a bare fist.
4037-4.03: You expertly kill an elephant using a crumbling bone spear.
