Question about lighthouse distances

Postby Fingersmith » Sat Nov 12, 2011 4:06 am

Ok , I see the following information in my location screen

You see a lighthouse at direction ..... You are very far away. :?:
You see a lighthouse at direction ...... You are far away. :?:
You see lighthouse.... at direction...... You are close. :?:
You see lighthouse..... at direction ...... You are very close. :?:

Anyone could please tell me what are the approx. distances in each case so that I'll decide where I want to travel.

If you consider posting an answer here a spoiler you could send me a pm.

Thank you for helping a poor novice and lost captain. :D

I've read the article it only defines the difference between named and non named lighthouses. It doesnt say anything about difference between very far away and far away , or between close and very close.

If you have a map, you can generally work out the rough distances between lighthouses, by the degrees at which you see them... generally.
I think this is good enough for the game, myself, and get by using this system, and it does allow you to work out which of the say... 'very far away' are closest to you... enough to head for them and correct later, anyway.

The article says it's visible from 200 pixels. That should be very far. Then you can estimate the other distances perhaps? :)
