Unsubbing to get rid of a char that is about to be killed because it is upsetting to you seems like a contradiction. Let it be killed and carry on.

Easily said, however I do understand what Prasa is saying. I have had a charrie put in that kind of situation, and it bothered me as much as unwanted, forced rape would. It upset me outside the game to the point where it affected my real life. Okay, so yes, I do take this game way too seriously....hard not to when you put so much of yourself into your characters and feel their emotions. Can't help it, it's the way I play...as Prasa says, to make it realistic. Point is, unwanted forced slavery/killing can be just as upsetting as rape. They are all forced violence. It is the part of the game I hate, and perhaps one of the reasons I let my account idle out after 4 or so years the first time. Too upsetting.

I thought there ws supposed to be some form of consensual participation in such adult/violent aspects of the game? Whether it be sex, rape or any other 'enforced' game aspects.
Now granted, this does stilt play a little, and I agree with this form of consensual play, but it does also mean that in circumstances where chars are (by virtue of the story-line) legitimately forced into situations, they simply can just stop play and move on?

In sex... it is the case that chars have it, with the optional 'fade to black' fine... i use this myself... why is it not the case that there are rape 'fades', torture 'fades'..?

I guess what I am saying is that is you really want to unsub, just because you see something in one situation that you are unhappy about, and rather than negotiate it, do actually unsub..? It's probably the best option for you.
If you try to negotiate these things (and OOC'ly would be a valid mechanism for this) in game and feel aggrieved because someone else fails to meet this..? Report it.
