Damage for no reason

Postby miirkaelisaar » Wed Sep 07, 2011 2:29 pm

I don't know if this topic's been up before and I tried searching but considering damage is a big subject.. yeah.

So, has anyone ever had an issue with suddenly having damage on a character when he/she hasn't been hit or attacked by anything that dealt more than 0% damage?

The first time was a character that was inside all the time, with only one other person. Somehow this character wound up with 2% damage, and while it was convenient in such that I could be like "oh look being inside is hurting me" or whatever, it was weird and a little unnerving.

This time a different character has 3% damage. He's tired because we all spar almost daily, but I checked my logs and events and no one ever hit me hard, and I haven't been attacked by an animal... ever, I think. Is this a regular thing that happens to other people? Am I supposed to report this? Idk if it's even a big deal, but yeah.

Even if it says you get hurt for 0% that is not an absolute zero. It just means less than 1% so those fractional percentages build up over time until they show 1%. Then it'll show 1% until you've built up enough damage to kick it to 2% etc.

After you take a hit, look at your damage bar. Even if the text message says 0%, that's a rounded figure, as SumBum said. The damage bar may show a tiny sliver of red, indicating that you took a tiny amount of damage. Eat some healing food, and you will see that you will be healed that small amount (though it's harder now with the new healing food system that doesn't tell you how much you need to eat to be fully healed).

I wish the damage bar would at least display the tenth's place of damage %. :(

I kinda thought that, but it happened in like one day and I wasn't sure because it was a lot for having been hit lightly like twice. But that's probably all it is. Still, the first character never even sparred, or did much of anything for that matter, and was inside all the time, and had like 2% and I never knew where it came from =\

One of my characters has 1% damage and I don't know where it came from.

You accidentally chop off your fingers while working on project "Collecting wood." You lose 9 percent strength.

You say: "Damn! That's the third time this week!"

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

You cut yourself while working on project "Drying potatoes." You lose 1 percent strength.

You say: "Now, seriously. I know I suck at this, but how in the world do you cut yourself when drying potatoes?!!?!? This doesn't even involve a knife!"

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

You burn your hands while working on project "Manufacturing steel (gas)". You lose 17 percent strength.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

You nick yourself while working on project "Manufacturing bone knife". You lose 2 percent strength.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Your eyes start to burn while working on project "Farming to get onions". You lose 3 percent strength.

You die.

Code: Select all

This body is no more than half a year old.  Cause of death seems to be burnt eyes from farming onions.

Onions...

...on that note, we could wage biological warfare by brining lots and lots of onions into enemy towns. Inhabitants would go blind.
