Even more of a thrill if that chracter is of some value in the world or quite old.

That feels a lot like OOC emotions influencing though.
I at least hope that you don't let names you have come to know by other characters or here on the forum be based for those "random" killings, because that would be cheating.

Well considering what Dragonslayer just said about personal influence rubbing off in game, I'm sure the same occurs subconciously for everyone. I admit that definetly when something ill happens to my chars, I get into a sour mood. It gives a good bond. Nothing too extreme, of course.

Oh and wizard dude, it seems customary in all places in Cantr that are inhabited, that people give up their name willingly, unless as Pirog said, they're some sort of spy or suspicious character. And reasoning from that, they'd have good reason to kill you.

Yes, but killing off characters just because they are old or you as a player know they are influencial has no logic. It's worse than the people who spawn, attack everyone and then run with the notes of the town...if you do that you are really only playing the game to destroy the fun for everyone else.

I think you're just defensive because your characters are old, :P and don't want them to get hurt. 2 wrongs don't make a right.

Anyways, if the character reasons that the character killed was influential and coincidentally aged, I see no problem in the assault. Especially since Darth said most of his characters are leaders who are assumedly(greedy, power hungry) politicans.

ok. i popped my way through this thread and desided i simply must reply...

(as if i don't reply to everything anyway because I am such a post whore.)

first. HEY! back off the lower case players! I hunt and peck and if I am typing fast, the upper cases tend to vanish into thin air. Anyone who plays with my charrys knows I never do one liners, and generally make myself VERY clear without proper grammar. As you can see from this paragraph, I obviously am not typing fast...lol.

next. hmm... lets see..... oh, my charrys..... One likes violence, thinks pain inflicted on others is good. another is bouncy bubbly and sweet as can be. (unless a thief pisses her off enough) those are just my polar opposites.... ALL my charrys will do violence if it is done to them.

other then that, friends die, they mourn for a day and move on, or kill the batsard that killed the friend.

Actually...my olderst characters are in their fourties and I have very few of them in any power positions, so it is really not out of my own concern.
(I'll leave the selfishness to you republicans )

Kidding

Anyways, I'm confident your characters have an influence on their regional locations, whether it be pissing Rangers off or what not. :)

P.S. Off topic- I found and took this poll from Non Cantr discussion http://www.politicalcompass.org/ and surprisingly:

Economic Left/Right: -1.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.62.

And by the way I'm a moderate independent. I defend whichever view I want. ;)

Kidding

Yeah, I know...my last comment wasn't meant as a serious insult either.

Silverfoot is by far my most "powerful" character, and even she is really nothing more than a glorified sheriff :)

Well...I'm at:
Economic Left/Right: -6.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritation: -6.46

I don't understand how the scale is on that test...you would have to be close to neo-nazi of fascism to end up far to the up-right.

Couldn't this go on the original topic? :(

Not that I can actually find the original topic...

No Industriallist, er else.

Anyways, we have to give Anthony his thrill of splitting topics. ;)

So yeah, the topic was ... world of death and violence. Anything else we can add to this without killing the topic?
