I am curious about some of the things that were said about any dead characters in the recent "possum drops" of RP due to the 'hacking'.
I had(have) a character that was around when a few of the possums dropped dead and we heard or spoke some words that could be used against us (or in our favor) about those whom we thought were deceased. We expressed a love or hatred for those passed on and now I am curious about how that knowledge will be handled IC. I now know some things IC about how certain people felt about our 'possums'. Are we now just finding out that they were playing dead or has time reverted to the moments before they died (thus making that knowledge OOC) or what?
This information may be already stated elsewhere, but I hope that a clarification can be made for RP purposes.
I am not necessarily asking for a staff definition (it would be niiice<-- tm Elaine from Seinfeld) but am also curious about how some of us plan to RP this reconstruction. I guess that those who passed did not hear their 'eulogies' but I don't really know since (so far) I have not lost any characters to death; showig that I am still a relative Cantr virgin. But there are probably characters who survived and heard those eulogies that now have some knowledge about the living characters that could be used for in-game purposes. Did 'so and so' have a secret hatred for one of the possums and laugh at their demise etc? Did someone else take the keys off of a dead body and use it to proclaim their new leadership or use those keys to access some storehouse. Were any notes that had privileged information picked up?
Inquiring minds...well, you know the rest. I know its probably a point of contention amongst the staff and appreciate those who have to deal with this, you guys rock! Thanks again for all you do for us and I will try to end all my sentences with a preposition in your honor. If only I knew how.

I read the message twice, yet I can't understand what the heck you're trying to say. ...Possums? If you're talking about the characters who died in Doryiskom, if only 4 people survived and only one of them was outside, the rest of them in buildings or maybe a vehicle, I can't quite remember, it's not like they had anyone to talk to what they felt about the characters that supposedly died, and the game was locked about 15 minutes after the last one died, so not like people had much time to react to anything. I'm confused.

lol, I had to read it a few times too....
Theres been no time roll-back, all items are being returned and dead brought back.
For all intents and purposes, as far as my characters are concerned, nothing happened.

Re: Reminisces of RP
I died, I saw a woman named B die right before I did. Had I spoken positively or negatively about B before I dropped dead, she would not have heard me or read it in her daily report. I have no clue as to the goings-ons or conversations in Dory after I died. Right or wrong, I am going to play this as a town mystery, town tragedy, life changing experience. A friend died and then I fell to the ground, the world went blank. When I do become revived, my skills will have changed, I may or may not have all the things I had before (because I could not accurately report to staff my stats or possessions), and the town will have to figure out how to continue.

Re: Reminisces of RP
I read it twice myself...I guess thats where I was at the time.
First of all...I have (had) no characters in Dory-however you spell it. But I did see at least two characters die elsewhere, just drop dead. Being a southern boy, I called them "possums" from the old wives tale that the opussum used to play dead in order to stop would be predators from attacking them. We now know that they are not playing, but that they actually faint in the presence of danger etc.
I am giving it away to those who were/are there, but I experienced a character express a possibly unstated romantic interest in a deceased character...actually two now that I think of it.
So how is my character supposed to use that knowledge since it is likely that the loved character will be 'revived'? Is this something that I should pretend that I didn't notice? Is it something I should tell the revived character? Is it something that I should use as blackmail against the one who expressed that love? The list goes on I guess. What if someone said something like "darn, I was hoping to kill him myself, but this is just as well I suppose"? I guess I am saying that we spent 1-2 days or more RP'ing that someone was dead and we said things about the dead characters...what are the suggestions for how we RP some things that some of us wish we hadn't said? Hopefully I made it clear enough.
My apologies to anyone I confused.

Re: Reminisces of RP
I am guessing the first question to ask would be to Seko. Are there characters in other towns besides Dory that died & will be revived? If so, I'd play it like you saw them die, what was said was said, and a miracle happened and now they are live... but that's just me.

It's kind of like when you overhear a whisper. It's up to the charrie's personality to play it out or not. If you play someone who has to be in on all the town doings and would gladly tell people everything he knows, then do it. If your charrie minds his own business, then go on about everyday life. There can't be just one answer to your question.

Agreed. There isn't just one way to answer this question. It is really up to your chars personality.

Edit: Since I'm apparently giving away too much information, just ignore what I wrote here and the conclusion is that the people died naturally and had nothing to do with the exploiter.

Also, there is no way they died 1-2 days before the game went down...so those people will remain dead.

Thats interesting...one of them died within 15min of interaction with me, thats why I was so surprised. It wasn't starvation either, at least I don't think so. Really you have made it easier (yet sadder) to RP if they remain dead.
Thanks for the clarification.
