Does anybody live in Australia?

Postby Appleide » Thu May 20, 2004 11:39 am

Because everytime (since last few days) No one responds when i appear/log on. So when there is a say a murderer in broad daylight i would be asleep and be killed. Or if there is a murderer coming when everybody is asleep and i am on, and i dont have any weapons as always, then the whole town would blame it on me for not chasing down the murderer!

Plus how do you get a trowel?

Plus when i first came on i picked up all the laws on the ground, i thought it was like somebody handing out sheets, so i was so embarrassed when they asked me why did I take the laws away.

Welcome to Cantr :D

1) There is always someone logged in somewhere, since we have players from all over the world, and many of us log in several or many times a day. There's lots of reasons why things might seem unusually quiet where your char or chars are:

-it could be that the players behind the other chars can't play as much as usual right now, due to holiday travel, summer school, kids being home and needing watching, etc., etc.

-it could be that players are currently devoting alot of time to other of their chars right now, which would possibly cause them to spend less time on the chars you are seeing in your town or towns.

-it may just be that your town is naturally more quiet than you would imagine it would be or would like it to be. As you start to fit in to your town more, you'll have more to do and talk about. This can take a bit of time, but starting conversations and asking questions in character (IC), will help get that started.

-Once your chars find their place, so to speak, you likely won't have any trouble with things feeling too quiet.

2) Learning how to get something, how to make something, how to find something, how to successfully trade or work (or steal  ) are all things you want to find out in the game with your chars. If your char asks how to make a trowel, someone will likely either tell you how to do it, or will offer you one that they have in return for your work or as a trade.

-Do remember though that when one of your chars learns something, your other chars still don't know until they also learn it themselves.

3) Learning about the laws and social customs of each town is an important part of your chars becoming socialized, or not :) . Now that the char you mentioned has made a mistake in his or her town, he or she will likely have a better understanding of how that town works and how to relate to his or her neighbors in the future.

Hi again :)

Our chars don't appear and disappear when we log in and out. They're always in their town and others can see them, even if we as players are not logged in.

Also, when we log in and check our chars, we "see" and "hear" what's gone on even though we weren't necessarily logged in when somene spoke or did something.

When your char picked up the notes, it may have been that you were the only player in that town who was online. The others still saw it though, and then someone reacted when his or her player logged in.

I hope that helps a bit.

In the future, it will be good to post questions or things you need help with in the General Support forum. Some players check that before the other areas, so someone might answer you faster than if you post in here. Also, others with similar questions or concerns will be more likely to look there for answers than here.

I live in Australia also. I'm a new player, but so far I've found a reasonable number of people reply promptly.

Cantr is mainly a slow paced game. When you have only 1-3 characters, yeah it can be very slow, but if you max it out at 15 you will find you will be busy. Some Players can tell you when you have 15 characters, there will be times you will be very very busy, esspecialy if you have one or more characters with important jobs.

It also depends on where your characters are located, and how many you have traveling
Some are friends of the Wolf.....others are Dinner
