Why not use some of the ideas from these articles you're putting in the wiki as an article in the Stolen Notes magazine?

I still feel as if you're giving too much away in the Wiki.

But without these wiki articles people who play for a longer amount of time have a bigger advantage with newspawns than new players.

New players can read the magazines. Even past issues.

And people who have played longer will always have some kind of advantage over new players. The way to keep new players is to let them experiment and try new personalities and see what works best for them. They might have better ideas than us about playing a town leader, for example. We don't want them to be exactly like us. We want to bring in diversity.

It tends to be pretty easy to tell newbies and oldbies apart. It's generally oldbies who say "Hi I'm this and that, I read your laws and this sounds like an okay sort of community, would anyone happen to have a job for me?" while newbies are like "*Whispers to the oldest or youngest person in town. Picks up some worthless resouce(s). Points at a door. Knocks on said door. Is found lying on a cot, unsure of how to get up.*"

Then aren't those articles perfect for that? We don't want the newbies to be all the same, and we don't want the oldies to be all the same. These articles help them playing their role differently and better.

And so they should. Experience should be helpful.
Part of the fun is learning/finding out how to play the various roles. I enjoy a book more if i read it from start to finish instead of reading the end first.

I agree with notsure on this. This may be a bit too much information given away to newbies.
I think ...

I agree, but kids today prefer things chewed to spare them the effort of thinking
Anyway, if PD finds something not suited on what's been posted there we might use our sissors to cut the CRB parts 8)

I think the real problem is that new players don't or refuse to read the Wiki. When I'm reserching a game that I think I wan't to play I do things like check FAQ, and troll the forums. If there is a link that says YOU SHOULD READ THE WIKIE ---->HERE then I do that too. But most people won't because their just like, "Eh I'll try it and if I don't like it I won't play anymore. No skin of my nose."

I think an FAQ section of the wiki or of the Forum thats stickied could do a lot of help to new players

1: What is Cantr?
Cantr is a text based rpg where you help form a living world with other players just like you. (Sounds like fun and still tells them what it is)

Stuff like that. Things need to be worded less like they do on the main page. Sorry but if thats all I knew about Cantr I would not have signed up the first time..lucky for me I have plenty of time to Wiki roam.

Note: I also think that maybe the new Wiki pages give a little more info then should be there but WE NEED NEW PLAYERS! I don't wan't to have to learn a new language to play.
