Stealing from abandoned plaecs counts as well? I nearly filled my boat with many resources by taking from such places.

If they're abandoned, then no. :? No one there to own it. Now breaking into a house that someone may have just left for a short time.... but too bad for them, I suppose.

Me thinks you want to keep a low profile, active roleplay is not all that common so all actions are being watched more closely at that time. Or you can be active for a while and be passive for a longer spell to wait for a good moment. Chars tend to sleep at the same time each day so watch when they acted yesterday and gamble to start stealing on ie the next hour. Get a faster than average vehicle.

The cantr clock is a big factor, many players know the exact times travelticks and projectticks are added, this is also one RL hour during every three RL hours more than average chars wake up.

I've had a very successful thief before..but he eventually just became a normal everyday person. I think being a thief in cantr is over-rated. You can't gain any real power through wealth in cantr, nor gain any real pleasure through wealth. Power is only obtained through having people loyal to you. And being a thief..it is pretty hard to get anyone to be loyal to you, no matter how much you bribe them. That is one big problem with cantr, material wealth can only go so far. It can give you power and pleasure, but only to a certain extent. Wealth in real life can get you all sorts of fun stuff, as well as give you power. The fun stuff you can obtain in cantr is pretty limited in my opinion, and as mentioned you can't buy power.
