Well, my ISP is throwing a huge fit so I can't check on my characters for a while.
Several of them are low on food and not in a position to receive food (travelling, at sea, inside and such things), my sister let me use her laptop from her place so I could check my mail and so I could post this message.
I'll try and hang on to this laptop for a few minutes longer so I might be able to check my characters, but she needs it for her work real soon.
One of my chars already croaked, though I was giving him a bit of a sleepy time already before my connection blew out... I had intended to check on him in time again, to avoid him croaking, but then my ISP started blowing chunks.
I'm switching to a new ISP because this stuff happens at least once or twice a year, this time it took more extreme forms so I'm making the switch... but my old ISP will end my account on October 15th, my new ISP can't give me an exact date yet but won't be able to hook me up until somewhere between October 13th and November 13th.
Bottom line, my chars will croak, most likely, until my isp fixes whatever is wrong in the next couple of days.
Can't play due to internet trouble

I know about that, and that was why I had hoped to access the from my sister's place, but forgot my login when I posted that message... after that I only got a few quick moments on her laptop to check my mail...
But after threatening to re-arrange the physical make-up of some of the people who run my isp (well, that's putting it in the somewhat civilized way) the trouble got fixed...
I'm still switching to a new ISP but at least right now I can connect from home again.
It'd be great if those [insert several derogatory words here] would have fixed it so the world could also access the sites which I host from my machine again, but heck, can't win 'em all...
And I'm glad they fixed it, I was starting to get them withdrawl jitters....
