I want the menu! *cries like a baby*

Postby Skulty » Tue Jun 05, 2007 8:14 pm

I know everyone in the staff is a volunteer and that I have no right to ask anything of you, since the day I finally became an aspirant programmer I had so much work on my hands I ended up never doing a thing to help here, but I just created a english char and when I entered the building menu  my mouth almost fell to the floor! It's amazing! Much easier, faster and cooler to use! But... my 13 portuguese chars can't see it... (it's me, actually, but you get the ideia...) I'm not demanding anything, and I will have pacience, I just want to know that someday, the sooner the better, it will appear to the portuguese players... :?
And once again, good work with the menu! :D

If i have read right it is the polish to blame... Everyone else have the updated version of the old menu. But the english and the polish has the new. I've heard something about that it was a polish programming that was in the way... (Might be wrong.)

Shouldn't this be in suggestions?

And if you have a basic knowledge of PHP it should be a simple conversion to place the old code into the polish Cantr code..
Nakranoth's "evil" character says:
"Thief! That's terrible! *shakes his head* That would hurt people's feeling if I did that."

Dutch have new menu too.

New menu uses Ajax technology, which uses Unicode encoding. Unfortunately Cantr uses wide variety of character encoding, so it needs converting before it could be used by Ajax. English and dutch players don't use any special characters, so they've got new menu. Polish translators keep using Unicode, so no conversion needed and therefore Poles have got new menu too.

Skulty, you're PgD, so if you're interested you can handle it on your own.

Ok, ok, I got it! I knew it wasn't really easy, or it would have been done already, I just wanted to know if it was going to be done soon or not. Since it seems not, maybe if someday I start to actually use my title of ProgD Aspirant, I'll take a look at that. :)
Oh, and answering N-Aldwitch, I didn't put this on suggestions since I wasn't sugesting anything, (it is already implemented) I was asking for it for portuguese players (I had some doubts about where it should go, but it ended up here, if someone think it is better elsewhere, please move it). And, no, I haven't even basic knowledge of PHP, only Java... :(

PHP can be programmed using different kind of programing languages... Or what you would call it. I can program in Perl and also knows that PHP can be programmed using my programming knowledge from Perl. Don't know if Java knowledge is one of those that could be used.

If i haven't got it all wrong... I have little knowledge of PHP since i never have been able to get a PHP server to work on my computer.

Let me see if I understood what you are saying... You're saying that I can use some knowledge of Java when programming PHP, right? Cause that I already knew, or else I wouldn't even dare to apply for the ProgD. What I don't know anything about is the language itself, but that can't be too hard to learn... Oh, and I don't know much about databases as well, but I like to learn, and since I will have lots of spare time soon if I get really motivated here I might be able to do a lot of work... I just need to know how to get started, but for that there's a post in the Prog Forum, already...
