You only get it when a new char spawns.

The other changes are related to this - All new characters get a summary of what they can see and for the first two character of any account a new message explaining the in-game interface is presented as well

Here is an initial draft - some small typo's have since been removed

Image

Reading Upwards the first 6 Events are displayed for all new chars
The 7th in italics for a players first two characters and the 8th for all other characters in the same location

Oh right yeah... that's pretty good for new players I suppose...

It's not as cool as children though :P

EDIT: Are lockable postboxes and drawers new too?

Another change a while back that I really like sends you back to your inventory instead of to the events page after adding materials to a project. This makes radio manufacture (especially) decidedly less tedious. Maybe there was a thread for that but I didn't notice it at the time. Anyhow, kudos for that and for all these nice interface touches. :D

No very old ... but thats all you can do with them, lock them and unlock them - You can't put anything in them

Thats probably in the Accessibilty of the Interface thread which covers lots of small issues like that

Things like this make the game much more accessible to new players. Good job.

I think the annoying, time consuming little things about the game are getting fixed in quite a good way. Thanks to all who work on them! :D

I noticed cloth bellows today. Is that the change that happened 13 days ago?

Thank you so much, Chris! All of these things will help intuitiveness, especially for newcomers. Which is a Very Good Thing.

Yes, I was just sitting there doing a refresh and noticed a person I hadn't seen before.

It's been really interesting, as I haven't browsed the forums for the past couple of months, but have still been very active... Just noticing the improvements as they happen, like (going back a little while now) multiple note operations, the buildings becoming numbered, the map becoming circular one day (although I'm confused as to what happens when you click on them), and then a few days ago I noticed them showing the speeds of boats. The materials addition going back to one's inventory is great, and so is the person I hadn't seen before. I absolutely know there was something else cool that just happened one day, but it slips my mind right now.

Thank you anyway, Chris for these, and all the other small improvements over the past few months especially! They are definitely noticed, and definitely appreciated.

PS Why don't people just get over children! Don't you know how to have them in real life!?

*sighs* That was retorical - I really don't want to spark a new discussion on that!

Only implemented 20 mins ago

EDIT: Unless you're talking about the really big change which happened about 13 days ago - which no one has mentioned

Would that be the hemmoragic sneezing that was just mentioned in the support forum?
