I dont think what Im saying is all that different from things already programed in the game, I mean you can chose to use it if you want or chose not to.

Im just saying that some people think a in game religion would be cool and I think this is a good way to start something that would make it easy for everyone to follow. A event that everyone in all of Canter knows about, not just one small area, and they can decide what to do with it from there, ignore it, make it a religion, whatever. Then after the event happened it would not still be on your screen the only thing you have to deal with is what people say about it and how they perceived it. It really would not effect you that much if you choose it not to.

Also people who have started religions could use it to further the religions that are already out there, like the book of hemp that Meh talked about.

But I think Im outnumbered here so I'll leave it at this..Just an idea :)

I think and eclispe or comet would make a good topic in that suggestion forum. Floods, Earthquakes, and swarms of locust will have to wait until they can have an effect.

"All you had to do is sit there and read. I was reigning down brimstone. And let me tell you that is an endurance trial like no other. Well maybe soccer. But still it's a lot of work." - Loki {an angel} talking to another angel - movie "Dogma"

while supernatural events do encourage the belief in a diety, they are not the source. you could add the supernatural events into the history of your character or his famliy. For example followers of the Great Light's great great grand parents could have been exposed to an "angel" or some event that our characters may not see but believe because it's what was passed to them.

Is it againist any rules to Rp all your characters in one religion? The problem with religion here isn't beliefs or ideas....a persons God can be good or evil but the problem is making a untified effort.

I know what I shall do. I will write Holy books..is there somewhere were i can find the history of the Cantr world?
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot

Yes.
We has a whole debate on when a second Church of Jos sprang up. Actually two debates. One was not to copy a religion from another area unless your chracter has been exposed to it. The other is to not base a religion on things outside the game like Jos. THe church of Jos is allowed only becuase it existed before the rule.

Also if you have two chracters in the same place or multiples in the same region the same rules apply I would think of having a limit of chracters in an orgnaization. The players department can detail that better than I.

That is an excellent idea. Start two or three unique ones that are all different to make sure one thrives somewhere. Running 15 seperate relgions is not against the rules. And don't forget about others that may exist already. Your joining them would make it happen for them. And you can always attempt to influence doctrine from inside the clergy. Don't be surprised to find out that the pope figure is corrupt.
