Interesting post, Missy!
And I agree with The Sociologist that it seems that towns are becoming gradually less capable of organising things. It seems people are speading out a bit too much, so that complicated organisation becomes more difficult. Which really is a playing problem, not a design one ...

Perhaps the employee was asleep? XD

I'm sorry, but you're not doing any better Mr. Sho.
That makes no sense. When TSL says "they didn't hear it," presumably he means that the employee was awake at some time after the transmission to announce that he hadn't heard anything.
:'( There was no need flaming me, either, so please don't tell me off!!
Let's allow these guys to sort this mess up now, eye?

I suppose the question I should have asked is:
Could you please explain what exactly you meant by "Perhaps the employee was asleep"? As I have said, the straightforward interpretation of your question does not seem to be meaningful. Therefore I must have misinterpreted it, and thus it is likely that other Gentle Readers may as well. I realize that you may have made an insightful point here, but it can't do anybody any good if it is so (seemingly) misleadingly worded.
And yes, it would be silly and immature of us to interfere with the swift and sure addressing of this issue. Let us, as you suggest, allow wiser heads to sort this mess out. I shall speak of this no more, as I clearly have nothing useful to add.

Sho understands that I did get a response from my employee, several times actually. I even had my char in the car and had someone else transmit. So unless characters are lying (but they have no motive to), then I think its a bug.
Jos, you said it worked in the test environment, but did you include the new longer ranged radios?

Vehicle radio recievers work with all 4 types of radio transmitters. This has been tested and confirmed.
Are you sure that the radio reciever is set to the correct listening frequency - at least one of the vehicle radio recievers in existance has never been tuned in. Once that frequency is set make sure you broadcast
on the same frequency.
I'm also assuming that the vehicle is close to the transmitter
If none of the above work then email bugs@cantr.net with details of locations of the reciever, transmitter and the chars involved
