Well, I stared to play in this game yestarday. Quite a cool one, knowing that may favourite are FPS games.
I search FAQ , but I see that you have just started to do it.
My questions:
1. I want to have a bone needle. When I put on the project make a bone needle it says " You have to use first small bones". OK, I have small bones but I cann't see the icon USE in an inventory or somewhere else. How to use small bones to produce bone needle?
2. People. When somebody is talking to me and says " hallo, I am Twiky".How can I know who the hell from those 20 people is talking to me as all of them have description "in his/her twenties or sth like that". How can I match names with those to whom I am talking?
3. Login. Do I have to log in and log out each time I wat to play next character?
4. Today I get a message " Your time for playing today has finished ". And it happeed to all my characters at once . Is it fair?
5. Travelling. My character has just left the location and is heading to forest. How can I calculate how long it will take?
I have read sth like : 8 times a day the processes start, speed 40, distace 3 , well it will take you about 9 hours to get there. ???????? How do you cout it?Near the icon Forest I havent seen how far is it to it . It was only Exit to Forest and nothing more.
6. When I farming a rice with sb, who will take it me or him ?

The FAQ is posted somewhere? WHERE?! :D

Well, other than the forums, I guess...

Here are the answers to your questions:

1. Hovering over a button in your inventory will cause a popup by your mouse, called a ToolTip or AltText - It will tell you the purpose of the button. However, the HTML used is Internet Explorer friendly, so only those using IE will see these popups. The Use button is the one that looks like a four pointed star/plus sign. It's the last button.

2. Everyone has their names in an orange linkable colour. When you see something like a man in his twenties, you can click the name and you'll gain a listing of all people in that event. (Say, for example, you see:

You see a man in his twenties point at a woman in her forties.

Clicking on either one of the links will bring up a listing of BOTH people (All people in that event) - They will be in order. So the man will be the one on the top of the list, and the woman on the bottom.

Back to your question: On this list, if you click the smily/mood/frown face, you'll come to a screen where you see the persons description and a text box. You can enter their name in this text box, and hit the Submit button. From now on, you will recognize this person. So instead of seeing "a man in his twenties" you will see whatever you wrote in that box.

3. No, you don't. The Circle and Arrow button is the Log Out button, whereas the left pointing triangle is the "Back to Players Page". Clicking the triangle button puts you back to the page with the listing of your characters, so then you don't need to log out.

4. Your ACCOUNT has a limit of 200 minutes, each day. You use these minutes as you play, any character. It's not 200 minutes each character, it's 200 minutes in a pool for all characters. Log out when you're not doing anything, so that they don't countdown your next click.

5. Calculating the road length is something -YOU'LL- need to figure out. Telling you the length of roads would be breaking the Capital Rule. You can, however, find maps in game places that give a description of the length of the road - this will help your characters. But remember, only the character with the map knows the road length - your other characters do not.

6. What's an SB? Nevermind. If -you- started the Rice project, you will get the rice (If you can carry it). If someone else started the project, the Rice will land in their inventory (If they're there when it finishs), or land on the ground if they can't carry it or the initiator of the project isn't there.

Hope that helps!

#1: go to your iventory. next to the "small bones" there are some icos. hover the mouspoint over them to see what it says. click on the "use" icon. (4 sided star). U must then select the project to use it on from a drop down menu.

#2:You can name people whatever you like. If the introduce themselves you can name them that way. Click on the orange description of that person, click on the first icon (A smiley), enter the name.

#3: when you lofin you can acces all characters. Whenever you're finished with one and you want to proceed to the next, make sure you're in the "events" menu. (By clicking the events button) and then press on the "play" button on the bottom of the page. You will then be taken back to the character menu where you can select another one.

#4: every player gets 200 minutes to play per day. When you login you can read the amount of minutes left on the top of the page. So, when you play a few chars, and wait for responses of other chars or whatever, make sure you logout otherwise you run out of minutes fast.

#5: there is no way so calculate how long a road will take to travel. Some maps (notes) have an indication of how long a road is, but they are few. Also, the amount of resources you are carrying influence the travel time. The heavier loaded you are, the longer it will take.
The 8 times per day thing: I think what you mean is the description of the cantr calendar?

Code: Select all

Day: 906, Time: 7:14 (next hour in 109 real-life minutes)
There are 20 days in a year, 8 hours in a day, 36 minutes in a hour.
It has nothing to do with travel time but it explains how long a cantr "day" relates tou the real life calendar.

#6: When you start a project to farm rice, or any other project, you will receive the results. Even when someone else is working on the project aswell.
There are 2 exeptions:
* you collect resources, lets say, 1000 grams, but you already carry 14500, the 1000 rice drops to the ground because you can only carry 15000 grams.
*you left the project and are at a different location. (travelling or in a house) and someone else finishes your project. then too, the result drops onto the ground.

6. When I farming a rice with sb, who will take it me or him ?

I don't know what you mean with sb.

There's a loit more of useful advice, but I'm done typing for now. Others will fill you in. :D

Where did you find that? never seen such a thing in cantr. Roads have lengths, but you have to find your own way to measure them. The game won't tell you. Different roads can have different lengths.

Of course, it is possible to calculate travel times. The game does it. But so far as I know, no character has ever figured out how. One of my characters might work on this at some point.

I meant on beforehand, before you take a road somewhere there's no way to tell how long the road is. That's what I think Atavi meant.

For number 6, sb means some body, anyways, if you started the project and he/she is working with you on it then it ends up in your inventory unless you can't carry it which means it ends up on the ground, if the other person started and you help them then it ends up in their inventory unless they can't carry it in which it end sup on the ground.

Thanks lot . It works

As I used Mozilla I was not seeing those hints.
Point for you trage . (sb=somebody, sth=something, ath=anything and so on).

Questions ( part 2)

1. What happens when I use button "pointing at sb"? Is it only pointing or can it be somehow useful?
2. Types of food. My strengh has lowered and I couldnt eat potatoes or carrots to get my strengh back. "ERROR=You cant eat this to get your strengh back" or sth like that.
Tell me about the types of food.
If potatoes do not give me a strengh what are they for?
3. How can I get inside the building? I have knocked on the door ,and now what, I have to stand there until sb opens it ?
4.The projects. When is it good to do it? Does it happen when hours change? When do I really make a project?
When hour changes for example in 20 minutes ; can I drop my project without losses and then before the change of hour come back to it?
5. If I do not use the character for 2 months because I have no access to computer will that character die ? If I put 15000g of food to his inventory will it be enough? Maybe I should tell some chracters to give my character food?
I do not go anywhere , I am just curious.

1. can be useful, if you want to interact with others and want others to tell you the name of that person

2. eating is automatized, it happens daily

3. you can only enter buildings when you stop your project; the project won't disappear, you can finish it aferwards ;)

4. learn by yourself what's good; i'm also still learning ;) you could also ask other characters in the game in form of roleplaying :)
if animals constantly attack you, then you could also die although you might have enough food

1. Yeah, pointing can be useful just to show other people who you are talking about. Like if you want to ask someone's name.
2. There are two types of food, healing food and regular daily food. Potatoes are daily food and you consume a set amount automaticall each day. You gain 1 strength from this and if you have no regular food when you need to eat, you lose 2 strength. THe other type of food, healing food, can be eaten at anytime and it replenishes strength right away, proportional to how much you eat. This is much less efficient than regular food, but good if you want to get your strength up quickly.
3. To travel or go in or out of a building, you need to not be working on a project. Stop your current project and another button will appear by each door. If the door is unlocked you'll be able to go in, but be warned, people get offended if you trespass. You can get back to the project you were working on in the activity page.

sorry, gotta go. someone else can cover the last two.

2: there are also some foods that do both. And not everything that looks like it ought to be food is. (ask IC if you encounter these)

i'm back.

4. Yes, project progress only happens once each cantr hour. You don't lose any productivity if you're away from it between those times. You can start projects anytime and most people will have their characters work on day or longer projects so that the characters will get work done while the player isn't there to tend them.
5. If you don't use your account for over 2 weeks (It hink it's 2 weeks, could be wrong), it gets deleted unless you make special arrangements. There's a way to put your account on away status. Your characters still need food or they'll starve, but in most locations that have farmable food, it's fairly easy to get a lot.

Not on the hour, however.

Couldn't you just use the TITLE-Tag in addition to the ALT-Tag?
Then both IE and other browsers (like Opera, Mozilla) would show the
tooltip.

I know it's a little bit off topic... sorry for that.

Nah, it's in General Discussion - Fair game. It's been discovered how to make it to all AltText/ToolTips can be seen in all/most browsers by changing the HTML to something else - what you stated, I guess. However, it's much more complicated than it seems, I guess it would be a lot of things in the game to change to have this tag, and just wouldn't be feasable (Until Programming acquired a lot of time... haha, yeah, right.)

It's simple to figure out the buttons for now, they're all pictorial. And if you don't know, it's only a few words away to ask in an OOC comment, or on the Forums. In the FAQ, I believe I told what they were... I dunno, I don't remember.
