Item is missing?

One of my characters has seen this recently, was wondering if it's strange or if it just happens sometimes:

2660-7.28: You see [someone] take (Item is missing).

Err... what? Does that happen when two people try to pick up an item at the same time?

ProgD should be aware of this... I've reported it ages ago. The item is there, but you just take it from someone else or another building.
