What types of characters are your favorite to play?
I'm framing this one as a very open-ended question. I tend to have more fruitful input when I respond to others with comparisons. If anyone wants to pontificate on your favorite methods of play, it would give us all something to think about.

You'd understand if you knew who my characters were. You can never know what to expect coming from a character. I play all my character differently with seperate personalities and built upon those personalities by what events they witnessed or were involved in ect... The only thing I haven't done yet is play a character of my personality. Some were close but not quite.
I can't really say I have a favorite character anymore. I have in the past but I am definitely intrigued by all of the characters I have played or continue to play.

I think for me the characters that are the most fun to play are the one that get into political arguements all the time. I like the arguements on the forums too, although people have been too wary lately to say anything offensive that would set one off agin.
Characters in power are always fun, although it's not always easy to get them there.
I have a character from Pok who is traveling the continent. I find that interesting because I get to see so many different people and societies, but on a day to day basis it's really boring. Mostly walking the lonely road.
Completely insane characters are fun also. I have one of those. They let you say and do the things you don't noramlly get to. Making people go "huh?" is really enjoyable from time to time.

I know of Sester... but that is it.
As a person OOC, I tend to look at my characters as vessels for understanding all the occurences in Cantr. It's interesting to see what sociological movement is pulling the character (seperate from what their psychology, either emergent from premises I have set or have developed over time) And then to zoom in to the minutae of their daily lives. To see how all the pieces fit together. I'm not much for creating works in Cantr or societal testing as much as seeing the events unfold, and how my characters and other characters react. In other words I don't want to build a dam and see how long it stands, I'm more interested in observing (which in some cases requires that you be the dam builder so to speak)
I'm interested in the happenings and the results, more than my effect on them.
So I would have to say the Characters I like to play are the ones that can see the most of this (which isn't always the travelling ones)

Sester Gartaf is one of the more hated characters in game but then I also play Ealse Quathak who I think is one of the more beloved characters in game. I like playing both.
Plus, I have many more. A few well known and few not so well known but all in all characters that are totally different from each other. I have had three very well known characters of mine die. Thomas Covenant but I'm not sure if he is remembered in Tircqi. Falkirk Corla, I know the history from before the First Krif Empire has been pretty much erased so most characters don't know about it but Falkirk was a well known character pre-First Krif Empire. And Zak DoUrden, who in the Cantr/Alenz region haven't heard of DoUrden Estates. That and he was killed in Ladvicitavoi so they know who he was in the Alexian Empire.

It's true, a traveling character is not ideal if you want to see the stories unfold. A character that travels a lot usually only gets a still frame of each place they visit. My traveling character is interesting to me because I get to see what types of societies exist, but unfortunately I don't get to see any of the significant events at these locations.
Exception to this I would say are the smaller islands. For example, on the K island the stories and politics are so intertwined that traveling around, you get a much better sense of what's going on throughout the island than you would otherwise.
