Radios on more vehicles
I was surprised that radios couldn't be built on motorcycles. I guess it would be silly to have one on a wooden cart, but is there really a reason why it -isn't- allowed? At the very least, a road motorcycle with a sidecar seems reasonable for equipping a radio.

Yeah, especially radio-receiver . I'm not sure if it really should have radio transmitter.

You ever tried hearing or talking into a radio when driving 60 mph without a helmet on a motorcycle?

You ever live on 200g of potatoes a day?
I probably have a char or two crazy enough to trick out a wood cart with a radio, if it were possible. The no transmitter idea would probably make me not even bother, though.

You never heard a radio as a motorcycle passed you? There is no such thing as a helmet, but there is a hardhat! Since everything in cantr is weighed in grams, I would suspect speed is not in MPH. I think anything motorized should have a radio.

Well indeed there would have to be an engine, as you need electricity... In houses there is something to say for a giant net that is everywhere through cantr
And still I don't think it would be good in motorcycles... I'd say only in closed vehicles.

I think radios should be able to be built on any type of vehicle, receiver and transmitter (including ship decks, but that's likely a whole other issue). Why restrict us? If someone is fool enough to go to all the expense and time to build a radio on a tandem when they're likely apt to upgrade vehicles, so let them. Why should we be restricted?

I really like the ship deck idea, when you are alone on a boat, you cannot be inside and still have the ship move. Either that needs changed or radios on the deck...

Ship deck would be awesome.
This isn't related to vehicles and also based on a guess as I don't know exactly how cages work. I think cages work like a vehicle, except they can't move. It would be neat to have a radio room that works like a cage, "but isn't called a cage", but we can build a radio. This way people can interact with the main town and not pollute the main area with radio noise. Only one person could be in there at a time.

This bring me another idea. Bigger ships, that can have cabins and holds, should also have one extra cabin that is called bridge. There could be a radio, but also is a place where you have rudder and you can change direction and speed of that ship. This cabin would be just like cage, so we could see sea, deck and use radio.

I'm not sure but bridge on the ships is only in new ships. I mean that, in the history wooden ships didnt had bridge. Because you cant change speed on old wooden ship from the bridge. It's not realistic. I know we eat in cantr 200g potatoes etc. Who is sailor know that, if you wana change your speed you need to drag a rope, not click a button.

On bigger ships you have to yell to your crewmen to change settings of sails. Also when you don't have sails you wont sail your boat, unless you have slaves, or engine. So basically you shouldn't sail galleon with 1 person on board.

Cantr isn't realistic. And this discussion is off topic.
Re: Radios on more vehicles
I like the idea of radios on any vehicle, but it would be more useful if radios were 'transferrable'... in that they could be lifted from one vehicle to another. (even if this took a couple of days)
They should definitely be allowed in cabin-less boats.

Re: Radios on more vehicles
I agree with getting them on boat decks and more vehicles. It creates a possibility for something like CB radio to crop up. Could make travel more interesting.
It also opens up the possibility for it to wind up similar to real life, where ships approaching each other might radio the other to find out their intent, agree to boarding proceedures, or just chat, etc.
You could actually have patrols out to warn approaching boats that a town is full of pirates, the town itself could notify that visitors are currently not welcome, etc.
