They are working perfectly for me. What browser an operating system are you using?

"hard returns" is reported already, it just haven't been prioritized so far.

Tried it on Windows 7 in Internet Explorer, and on Mac OS X in Firefox. Neither are working.

Might be a Mac thing. I'll try it at work on Monday.

No, I mean I've tried it on two different computers: one Mac, and one PC.
Two different operating systems: Win 7 and Mac OS X.
Two different browsers: IE and Firefox.

The results are the same. If any character description is altered, the mouse-overs do not display while any character who's description has been altered post-crash is on the events screen.

The only time mouse-overs DO display, is if the only characters visible on the events page, have not had their description altered after the recode/reboot.

Ah, yes, it's true. Newly input descriptions do not display, but old ones do.

I've just had two errors on different characters.

At the last project tick, the event message to say where the project outcome was appeared as normal but the box at the top showing which project I was working on stayed until I clicked it, when an error message appeared. (You are not at this location)

Two events appeared. 'You have eaten all your potatoes.' (twice)
Reveal to me the mysteries
Can you tell me what it means?
Explain these motions and metaphors
Unlock these secrets in me
Describe the vision, the meaning is missing
Won't anybody listen?

No idea about the potatoes. I do know that if you are on the event screen for a char when their project finishes, the auto-update will show the message that it finished, but at the top of the screen it will still show you as working on it since that part of the screen hasn't been refreshed. Might be one of those "it's a feature, not a bug" things. I don't know if it can be fixed. If you weren't on the event screen at the time of the project tick then it might be a more oddball problem.

That's the way it works with the javascript event refresh thing, it only update event texts, not the rest of the page.

Was the eating today or just when the game was re-opened? There were two eating messages for all characters at relaunch.

Makes perfect sense. Maybe I just hadn't noticed it before with all the clicking I usually do.

It was at the last eating tick and both had the same date/ time.

I've seen that specific eating bug before (when you run out of food double-post), so this isn't anything new.

I've been doing some experimenting, and it seems the hover over descriptions are working for some characters and not others. Incidentally, the character of mine that it's not working for, is the character that also fails to load the location map on the first try consistently.

When I try to disassemble a smoker, I get an error message and then I am dumped at the CHARACTERS LIST page. When I return to the character that tried to do this, the smoker is not being disassembled.

Several months ago, I successfully disassembled a couple of smokers, so this problem is something new.

The Miscellaneous category is not displayed in the old HTML build menu.

Is there such a category? Are you maybe thinking of semi-finished products?

I was looking for candles and Joshuamonkey said those are in that category. I do see the tag in the DB for translations and I remember seeing the category long time before IC, but since I used the new build menu I entered the item I wanted and didn't notice if the category went missing before the downtime.
