Building Capacity

Postby watermelonnose » Sat Sep 13, 2003 3:20 am

Do buildings have a maximum holding capacity? Assuming a yes answer, does a room built in the building add or subtract from that capacity? :?:

I suppose they do. In fact I was confronted with a building I could no longer enter because of the pile of corpses inside and I heard stories of people stuck inside a locked room because of their captors could no longer enter the room.

but adding a room to a building increases its storage capacity; check out the Praetorians residence for example in Blojt, which has over a dozen rooms, many with furniture and other items in them.

Or any of the labyrinthine halls of Krif

remind anyone else of Moria?

Building a room is like building an edition on the structure. A room is not built within the already existing building but like knocking down the wall on one side and attatching a new structure to it.

Does it work the same way with boats?

No I don't think so. I remember someone trying to build a building on a boat. Lets just say that didn't go to well.

I'm working on getting a building on a boat. I suspect each building/rooms would be unaffected by the total amount of them, but the boat would be weighed down.

The Lusken Inn is a good Labyrinth itself. A few more bodies and it would have been full. Good thing they got them out of there.

I think there should be a group who aspire to the dwarves, and live their lives to make great halls that you can get lost in.

I am also working on building a building in a boat. It's 25% done, but I recently stopped in Mirovash to get some supplies. It may be delayed for awhile now.

Also I think it's impossible to get lost since you leave the building through the location tab and go deeper through the buildings tab. Maybe if both were on buildings it would be easy to get lost but right now As long as you click on location you can always find your way out. Also maybe you could connect some rooms that are in the building. This could work like a porject, maybe you would need a sledge hammer to tear down those walls.

Labyrinth...

Unfortunately, you are right. I wish you could somehow make a true labyrinth...

Umm, Swymir, last time someone tried to build a building on a boat that led to a diasterous result. I'm just trying to make you aware of that.

Well I think they got all of the stone and suddenly they figured out that they couldn't get on the boat because there was too much weight already on it. This might have been fixed and I think it might vary on what kind of boat it is but I would talk to the programming department about building buildings on boats.

Well the boat I'm building it on seems to be big enough since the stone is already on it. I've already started building it.
