I got a PS3 recently after holding out from the console market for a long time. Any recommendations for cheap games? I don't have to have the latest thing. I figure I can wait a year or two and then pick up a used copy for ~$10.

Yeah, because that level scaling system was simply divine. Sarcasm intended. Morrowind is still superior, IMO. Skyrim should be brilliant though, fingers crossed.

Is the Game of the Year edition worth paying extra?

Yes and no, there is a bug with vampirism in the PS3 game of the year edition. The original PS3 copy didn't have the bug or so I have read as I haven't experienced it yet while playing the PS3 version. Pretty much with the game of the year edition once you became a vampire you couldn't cure it. Price wise you pretty much get the expansion Shivering Island for free if you buy the game of the year edition whereas you have to plop down $30 to purchase the expansion separately for the original version on the PS3.
