Oh, I read the topic on it and looks like it's just a slap on the fingers. Just because you assume a lot of people were exploiting a bug doesn't give you a right to make it public so that more people would get tempted to exploit it. It's just going to lead into more need for cleaning up afterwards.

If I've said it once, I've said it a million times. If you exploit something after it's been publicly exposed, you must be really fucking stupid.

Stupid or not, deleting the items duplicated on purpose would take a while whether or not their owners got permabanned. In KoL they accidentally put Valentines for sale for free one year, leading into everybody hoarding loads of them. In the end they had to delete all of them because there was no way of telling which ones had been purchased legitimately. Or in Cantr there used to be a bug that allowed making sextants or something without all the components, but they couldn't delete all the items because some of them had already been sold to a person who didn't know it had been created due to a bug. Sometimes exploits end up hurting people who didn't exploit them, and it causes extra trouble for staff the more people end up exploiting something, so "everybody else is also exploiting it" shouldn't be used as an excuse.

It wasn't.

EDIT: Honestly, unless there are clear guidelines about it, people can't say shit. Besides the bogus "security" crap lumin mentioned (imho duplication isn't a security issue and HAS been publicly referenced there before) which isn't actually a refernce to what she posted, there's nothing.

In fact, it's clearly written exploitable bugs should be reported on the forum, since FTO -is- in BETA. I have so much more to say on this, but I don't feel like arguing with people who can't be bothered to get the background facts about both sides of the ban (including legitimacy, fact backing and previous similar situations) before hand.

EDITx2: Regardless of what -you- think she did or did not have the right to do, it's the ToS that dictates actions and acceptable behavior in this situation, not you or I.
