How about listing by the first letter of the article's hanyu pinyin title? It would be kind of alphabetical then.

Why don't you use the the main radical from the first character of a word.

Lychee,

I'm not sure what do you mean by the first radical of the word...?

ps.
(oh...anything we might come up with should be simple, so others who are only learning can easily browse through it as well)

We should use the main radical of the first character in a word to list.

I'm just assuming this, because I know what the above is, but I don't know if it is called radical in english.

I have seen it called the radical. I haven't looked at many proper Chinese dictionaries, so I am kind of going to let all you experts kind of decide on what will keep the things organized the best. :D

Bottom line is that in order for, say the Category:Resources page to be organized, we should name the individual resource pages (radical)[characters].

Trying to go back to my original idea of naming the page in PinYin, we could try naming the pages (pinyin)[characters] and then everything will be listed alphabetically (english) according to the first letter of the pinyin.

B 菠菜 (link [[bo1cai4菠菜|菠菜]] ) --> page name = Bo1cai4菠菜
M 木头 (link [[mu4tou5穆头|木头]] --> page name = Mu4tou5穆头
毛皮 (link [[mao2pi2毛皮|毛皮]] --> page name = Mao2pi2毛皮

and so on and so forth. Does that make sense? Advantage here will that it would make the PinYin easily available alongside the character used in game for the Western speakers who are learning chinese (like me! :D ). Someone comes to the wiki, browses visually for the new character they are trying to define and clicks to find all the information they want about it.

Pinyin is also commonly used in Chinese online and paper dictionaries.

EDIT:
I'm going to put the pinyin name of the resources in the articles. oh and lol I translated asparagus in bablefish and it's showed up as bamboo shoot in english XD, well yea that was awkward.

谢了!Here's a quick link :)

By the way, I was wondering if it's troublesome for some users with incorrect encoding settings to access this link since there are Chinese words in the address.

Oh yes, on the Chinese Wiki Main Page, I have added some new pages where the Chinese equivalents to English pages are to be written (translated from English). Links to these pages are right beside the links to their English equivalents- e.g.

** [[Game Rules]] [[游戏规则]] (游戏规则)

in which [[Game Rules]] is the link to the English page,
[[游戏规则]] is the link to its Chinese equivalent,
and (游戏规则) is the text translation of "Game Rules".

And I'm in the process of translating this page...Whew!

http://www.cantr.net/mwiki/index.php/游戏规则

My hope is that someone who speaks only Chinese will visit the Cantr site, read our Cantr wiki and decide to stay on to play in the Chinese area :P

Thanks!

the page is ok if you view it in Unicode UTF-9...which I think it most of the other languages are using....

everything looks great so far...I guess I'll go through it and make some minor adjusting.... :)

I still think we should use radicals to list. I'm sure the people who learning Chinese should be learning radicals because they are really important. But if your using simplified in the wiki, we shouldn't use radicals to list things.
