Maybe this poll will show how Chinese is becoming an internationally-used language! (Which is quite surprising to me as Chinese is so hard to learn, but it makes sense because the China market is booming.)

我住在新加坡,我是新加坡华人。
但是,我很想搬家或移民加拿大。。。。。。:)

I live in Singapore and I'm Singaporean Chinese.
But I really want to move or emigrate to Canada...

Interesting, I have a question, 在新加坡﹐ NG 的中文姓是黃(中文姓名)﹖ 我聽﹐ 黃是 NG 在新加坡。 也我都聽﹐ 新加坡 is a.k.a 星州 . 是真不真馬﹖

To make things simple

is the name Ng in singapore the name Wong (黃) in china.

Yes, the surname Ng in Singapore can be the Chinese equivalent of 黄. But some people with the surname 黄 also spell it as Huang in English...there are different English versions of the same Chinese surname. Same goes for some other surnames :P

That's right, 星州 means Singapore, but we Singaporeans don't call Singapore by that name...we just call it 新加坡.
