Pointing to oneself

Postby SZK » Sun Feb 05, 2006 5:07 pm

Here's an easy idea!
Normally, if you point to yourself, it says:

1433-5: Bob points to Bob
or
1433-5: You point to Bob

when it could/would/should be:

1433-5: Bob points to himself
or
1433-5: You point to yourself

(unless you like referring to yourself in the 3rd person. SZK does sometimes)

Edited to make title more descriptive of suggestion. -rklenseth

Would be useful for man in his twenties talking to himself, not so much in other cases.

And also for hitting yourself. Some overactive guard might charge at somebody for "attacking somebody for no provocation", only to notice that the person was in fact only hitting themselves to test a weapon or their fighting skill.

You can benefit from pointing at yourself when introducing yourself, if you don't have the needed language skills, if your character is retarded or if it's a cross-cultural encounter, in which case if you said just *points at himself*, the other characters might not understand. Having the yourself programmed in rather than looking like you point at a separate person who turns out to be you would be a good thing. Nick, didn't you support all things that help communication between language groups..?

Accepted, but not implemented (yet).
I don't need a myspace; I spend enough time in other people's spaces.

ZOMG, I was beginning to think that was already implemented before I saw this.
