Many voices here sound anti-big-town. I disagree. Cantr has a shrinking population in a huge world. If you spawn in a big town, it's easy to walk to a small or empty town, even on one of the main islands. If you spawn in the middle of nowhere, getting to a population center could be very difficult.

However interesting your small town may be right this second, it probably won't be a year from now. Few characters live past thirty. Towns need new blood, and splitting that over a thousand little towns is suicide for Cantr.

I'm not anti-big town... I just think it would be fun for Cantr vets to be able to spawn a wilderness character that literally ends up having to experience the primitive part of this game. To have to play Cantr as a survival game in a way.

Neither of you are very clear (at least to me) on where you stand on the issue.

Every time I see somebody going off alone to 'start their own town' I just have to roll my eyes a little, because of exactly this.

And when they put down a law note it's just adorable.

Yes to both. Anything to save Cantr II, urgently.
Cantr II is a social simulator. What is not working is due a problem in the society.
Cantr is like Vegas - what happens in the game should be in the game.

Supporting both though I think the automatic is more important. Activity should be rewarded, activity is what new players should see and the automatic would accomplish both.

How would this work? Would there be a simple option for it, or is there an item that you use that disables it for some time? It could be a good use for all the rubber that's just laying around.

It's an OOC thing, so why should IC item affect that?
