Brick Alcove

Postby Draco » Sat Feb 01, 2014 2:15 am

Brick Alcove
Time: 1.5 days (Or 2 days)
Materials: 2000 grams of brick
Tools: Iron, bronze or wooden trowel
Location: Brick Hall
Brick building
Brick extension
Brick alcove

Capacity: People: 4
Weight: 600.000 grams

(While brick buildings tipically have more space than the others, I decided to keep it fair here)

The idea is basically due to the fact that while I was considering building a big house, I wanted to add some small rooms, like a pantry for the kitchen and a bathroom for the bedrooms (And the bedrooms themselves), adding an extension is a bit too much, considering the size and the cost.

So...what do you think? :)

Somehow I never even noticed this thread, but yes yes yes! I have a char in the same situation as Draco.

That's 12 positive opinions (not counting my yeses :D) and no one against, and it seems like something really simple to add that realistically we should have already. Can we pretty please get this accepted?

I thought these were already in the game. I guess if you can have stone alcoves, why not brick alcoves?

I like except I think you should be able to build them inside any larger building like you can the stone alcove. At least I think you can build stone alcoves in cottagges etc. If I'm mistaken then sorry, just saying it should follow the other buildings.

From the wiki:
Location
building
hall
stone extension
stone alcove

So, yes, the stone alcove only works in stone buildings ;)

Slightly OT: I don't know if it's a bug or not (I think it is), but you can build a stone building or a hall inside a cottage. Not stone extensions or alcoves, but you can build them inside the building or the hall once you have it.

You can build a stone building or a cottage anywhere, because they're main rooms. The reason you can't build an extension or an alcove in a main room that's of a different type is that they would have one wall of a different material.

only things I would change are.. I pulled math right off the stone extension to alcove comparison and did it to the brick extension and I got..
2 days work
3000 brick
5 people(just barely)
710,000 grams
