Explosives...

Dynamite and TNT, maybe even "Gun"powder kegs for mining purposes... Can't be used to attack, cause that's silly...

I don't know how these are made, Gunpowder is Lime, charcoal, saltpetre and something else...

But it'd be a two stage project... manufacture, and laying the charge in a place with ore or stone, Your skill with this could determine how well you lay the charge and therefore the yield.

The ammount of stone that is loosened by the explosion, and so is easy to pick up... its just a tool, but only single use.

It's been suggested before and a planned implementation (including other uses - primarily building and vehicle destruction but also lock destruction - "You are not supposed to blow the bloody doors off" ) has been discussed in ProgD and RD, though its low priority and depends on a lot of other ideas being implemented


I'll move this to accepted suggestions as a catch all topic

This sounds like a very good idea. Usually if you want to go into an area and mine a lot of limestone, stone, etc... you have to get a lot of people and spend time, even If you have advanced tools at your disposal. With this, it will be possible for those who are adanced enough to make TNT to mine easily -- it will encourage economic growth, and shouldn't be too hard to implement.

(Although the use of explosives to destroy vehicles would be unfair on those who don't have enough time to react to someone who's putting down dynamite all around their vehicle, plus it would be too hard to implement)[/quote]

Exlpsives for mining is very good idea. explosives for doorbreaking not very good idea. A boat docks while everybody is sleeping blow away all doors take all goods and gone without annyone notice it. May be its not a problem in cosmopolitan cities because there is no time when everybody sleeps, but in small language group locations it can be disaster. And about destroing buildings. It is not bad idea, but buildings suppose to be destroied from inside only.

It would make pirating more popular and add a little more spice to the game. It's not like there isn't an infinite amount of resources to be gathered anyways.

Not a bad idea. It just needs to be thought through well.
Let's think about this.

TNT as a tool with shovel = 3,300 grams per day of limestone.

TNT as a tool with limestome quarry = 6,600 grams per day of limestone. (can that even be coded?).
I assume it could be done the same as the machines with petrol(TNT).
With the quarry it could be the petrol equivalent.

Stone, nickle ect mining as well. A mined resource, TNT with tool (pickaxe, shovel ect).
As far as I see it, nothing that has petrol as an option should be able to use TNT/explosives.


Note: half assed and off the top of my head. Only added to get ideas going.
