Lobster pots! (Duplicate Thread Reject)

Postby Crosshair » Sat Jan 21, 2006 2:19 pm

This would open up sooooooo many posibilities, and really open up the fishing industry.

Project manufacturing Lobster pot.

1000g wood,
10g iron,
500g sinew/hemp

takes a day.

tools hammer, knife.

it is a machine that can only be used on a boat. select project catch lobster
100g meat input (bait, depending on how much lobster you want)
output 10g lobster for 100g meat. (lobster are rare, and therefore sought after)

Perhaps then alternate projects (crab, crayfish for lakes, even oyster diving, which opens up a new resource: pearls)

There's no harm in raising an idea again ... Sometimes things can get lost on the forums its just better to add to the existing thread if possible.

This sounds a lot more like a net than a pot. :)

Yes, lobster and more seafood would be great. I have been expecting it to need to be added as a resource to locations before we can go ahead with the machinery used to catch it. It just doesn't seem right to the game balance to have food available just because you can build a machine for it. Like carrot and potato harvestors, the lobster will need to be added before we can start adding machines. :)

Well obviously... but perhaps a deployable thing on the sea, which is what a lobster pot is... they are sunk offshore, with a buoy on them. i guess you could make some kind of boat which had only that purpose...
