Horse Riding (Duplicate Thread Reject)

Postby Tolomus » Sun Feb 29, 2004 2:53 pm

Since I am a bit of a newb at this game, this may well have been discussed before... but instead of having to get the materials to make cars and such, why can't there be a project, etc, where you can capture and train a horse to ride, and save on the travelling time. Also, if say you and your new horse was in a mountainous area for example, you would have to feed it from your own suplies, as grass, etc for the horse to eat wouldn't be very plentiful in mountains.

You could also name it......just a suggestion. :D

Something to the degree has been mentioned, but still a fine idea.

I would think it necessary to build a farm out of oh say, 10kg of Stone, 15kg of wood...and possibly a harness/saddle, with leather and hemp rope[legit], and then umm, it might just work.

Yes indeed, however it works out with figures, etc, but the main point is that it will take for ever for any char of mine to get a car, etc, and it would be nice to get places faster.

Also, just think of the companionship from a horse! Every now and again it could come up with quips and sarcastic comments, and maybe a song or 2 to keep you entertained for the rest of the trip!

Or maybe not... :(

Or if you get very hungry...

You see Nitefyre hurt his horse with a sabre.

You see Nitefyre use some meat in grilling meat.

You see Nitefyre use some wood in grilling meat.

If you don't tenderize it properly, it can leave you speaking rather hoarsely.

:x One of my chars realized of late that riding cheetah's isn't the best of all things to do.

But possibly turkeys, chickens (?) and cows, can also be dragged into barns and kept. Maybe for those rich people who don't want stables, then they can make garage's especially for their cars.

It would be good to properly civilise areas with barns, etc.

As to riding cheetahs, I would prefer my chars to ride elephant! How imposing would that be to ride into a small undeveloped town on your elephant!

Though feeding it might be a bother :)

IRL, riding an elephant is uh quite difficult, without one of those little wood seating carriages on top. So that may have to be the replacement for a Saddle on elephants. Oh and of course, SouthEast asia has a long history using Elephants in combat.

I believe its called a howdah(sp). As for the combat, you could make its tusks covered in metal or gold for the extra image!

I've been thinking of stampedes today. Not that it should be a priority. Just a thought.
