Allocate items to each player at start of game

Postby pseudo_statistic » Thu Feb 08, 2007 2:14 pm

I would like to suggest the idea of each player being given a small amount of items, so that they can use it to start themselves off. It should be randomised for each player.

I think the whole point is that you come into the world with nothing. I really can't see the point of this. You can never arrive alone, except in the most unfortunate circumstances and the whole purpose of the game is co-operation.

This has been suggested & debated about before.

You'll find that, in most locations, there is a small cache of primitve tools freely available to newspawns anyway.

And it really does not take that long to get a knife/hammer together.

Killing newspawns for items, anyone? Weee. What a perfect way to make people independant from all societies, you'd be given a year's worth of food and some tools that the oldbies can't even produce on that region, and then you can go off and build your own longboat and go explore the world. Instant satisfaction. Oh yeah, and while we're on it, let's give everyone crossbows to bring in some action. [/sarcasm]

This has been discussed before. And like before, it is rejected.
