That is the coding feature we are waiting for. And it is correct that it should not be possible to construct both in the same location, though the bug that allowed firepits to be built anywhere was only recently fixed, so Lord knows how many buildings are out there with both.
It shouldn't pose a problem though, the way it will most likely be coded.
