Dynamic Naming of Locations,etc

Postby swymir » Sat Aug 16, 2003 7:23 pm

I was just thinking of some ideas and one that came to mind was what if you could rename areas. I don't know how it would be decided who gets to rename the area. Maybe the person who has been in the area the longest has the right to name it or whatever. I'm just throwing the idea out there.

It would work as the current naming system for people, I would imagine, and advocate

Well I guess that would work if they made it so that when you start out you don't know where you are. That way all you see is a road leading to a forest instead of the name of the road and forest.

wouldn't it depend how long the road is? It may be too long to see where it leads to.

No, the roads in Cantr are not that long (if we say so). If we can solve this way, I think we should use it.

Yeah, it's not that the roads are very very long, it's just that all the characters walk very very slowly..That and it's all in your head. O_O;;

If we make it possible to rename towns would it also be possible to rename buildings? There's loads of abandoned buildings in some places but people don't claim them because they wan't buildings to have the name of their choice

Yeah, it'd be great to be able to rename buildings and vehicles.

Maybe it could be like a layer of paint as well that you could scrap off to see the orginal names.

It could all be done as the character names...it would really be great.

Especially the buildings, since someone named some rooms in Tircqi stuff like "X did that to Y" and so on...like some sort of evidence.

Yay one of my ideas might actually be used. It's true 15 characters can make a diffrence in Cantr.
