Amaretto (nut liqueur)

Postby bnlphan » Tue Feb 11, 2014 6:55 am

I have often felt there needs to be more uses for nuts in game so here goes:

Process:
1 Crushed nuts via press. 1000 grams nuts produces 800 grams cruches nuts. (Similar to crushing apples for brandy I modeled that way but perhaps hammer or mallet on stone/kitchen table) 1000:800 would be four days work?
2. Soak nuts in water (similar to making malt for beer. ) 250 grams nuts plus 100 grams water in a bucket produces 250 grams. Nuts extract in 1 day.
3 Automatic Pot still 400 grams. Nut extract produces 150 grams amaretto liqueur with 50gr coal or 80 gr wood.

Unsure of healing property nuts are better than apples I believe so this would heal better than apple brandy I suspect?
Possibly could be made even more potent with mixing with lemon juice for amaretto sour.

Yes, please. I know someone who would very much enjoy making this.

Even if it wasn't more efficient than apple brandy, I'm all for giving the nuts more use, so it's a big yes from me.

I am also thinking the nut extract idea could be used in other recipes baked goods for example.

Now that birds can be domesticated and hopefully eggs will be a bit more "affordable", maybe the nut extract could be added to Seko's suggestion to have another kind of cake?

What about nougat/turrón?

500 grs of nut extract
500 grs of honey
50 grs of rice paper
100 grs of sugar

Tools: pot, whisk
Machines: primitive oven, oven, coal oven or gas oven; or made with a small fire pit, fire place or deck grill

Since the honey heals 3% per 100 grams and the nuts 1,84% per 100 grams, would it make sense if this would heal 5% or 6%per 100 grams?

Big yes from me too. Look at all the uses for nuts in real life, Cantrians could use a few options too.

Crushing them in a press should yield treenut butter. Then we could make fried treenut butter sandwiches, treenut butter cookies, ice cream with treenut butter sauce, treenut butter fudge... :)

Bonus points if recipes for jelly are added, we already have plenty of fruit.

I feel like voting no just so that all the other polls on this forum don't end up looking bad by comparison...
Otherwise, I like the idea.

Should I resubmit this with an open poll or any chance it can get moved to approved since it was unanimous on the vote?

I think this has enough votes to be accepted if it's going to be accepted in the first place. If not, then no amount of votes is going to change that.

Implemented with drunkenness and many other new drinks.
