I think that only the "owner" of the room should be allowed to change the description. Who might that be? Well, certainly the originator of the project, and anyone they designate (via a change ownership screen) but perhaps later on in time, the person who puts a lock on a room/building to prevent a room whose owner has died frombeing forever unchangeable thereafter.

(I'm kinda miffed that this was accepted right away, but whenI mentioned this idea almost two years ago, it was pooh-poohed.)

When a building/room is completed, there is no record of who built it.

How about key holder can change the message instantly, while for others it would be a project? That way anyone could edit but it would be easier for the likely owner.

/\ Good idea.

We have signs on buildings and ships, so maybe implementing that on Place page below the two counters of people and weight?

I really like Seko's idea.

And the suggestion is probably the best one I've seen in a while.

I'd always put floor maps in any of my public buildings, along with little labels and descriptions sometimes.

Anyway, this idea is gonna be great once implemented.

Some info about incoming implementation of the feature.

1. It'll be possible to describe only buildings.
2. Desc change project takes 1 hour. It doesn't need any raws or tools. It can be canceled by anyone after 1 hour.
3. If you have a key to a building lock - you can change it immediately. If there's no lock - it's not possible :)
4. It shouldn't be overused. It's to describe details, architecture etc. not for "creating" objects which doesn't exist in cantr-real-life (CRL).
5. Character limit would be 500. We'll see how it is used and then we'll decide whether to change it or not.
6. Description will be visible on the location page, below door info and crowding stats.

EDIT: Pardon me, harbours are ok. It will work for them too.
