Allow clothing to be stored in chest

Postby Doug R. » Mon Sep 25, 2006 11:33 pm

I just made a chest (thanks Wichita and ProgD), and I'd like to be able to store clothes in it (and musical instruments too). Any chance of that happening?

Wouldn't that mean giving clothes weight? or do they already have that?

Being able to put objects in storage containers has been in the works for a long time now. Although such a change is planned, when it will be implemented is unknown.

Clothing doesn't have any weight (and having weight is not strictly necessary for putting such things in storage containers).

So infinite storage capacity then? or will it be slot based?

Objects for a long time have had dimensions as well as weights. Resources also have densities. The orginal plan was to use these values in some way to determine the capacity of containers. Hence, notes and clothing under such a system could be given a volume such that they would take up finite space in a storage container.

my question, what would be the implications for carrying clothes? will this put an end to travelling clothing merchants who aren't already endowed with high capacity vehicular transportation of sorts?

I thought clothes only had no weight when they were worn?

Just tried it and they do not have weight even when not worn.

Moved to Accepted as RD and ProgD are already discussing it.

Implemented.
