Things to kill?

Postby The Hunter » Wed Dec 24, 2003 9:21 am

Wouldn't there a possibility to add some human "npc's" instead of just anumals. Kinda like an Uber enemy. Same strength as a character and maybe carrying a wooden shield. Just for some variety. Maybe they could drop a shield and/or a simple weapon or some resources. I'm not suggesting to make this a normal "hack and slash" game like all the others, I'm just suggesting for something else to worry about then animals. It might also be a solution to get a very limited amount of resources on islands without those. A small "drop" of rubber on an island lacking rubber.

I don't think that is ever going to happen, although it would fit nicely in with one character's beliefs.

No, I think Jos is against that. And if an island doesn't have a particular resource then that island will have to go out and gain it from another island. Or at least that is the theory.

The whole concept is somewhat opposed to the point of cantr where people should fill all the niches of society on there own. The fact you would need npc's to do the job means it isn't necessary.

I don't like the thought of NPCs but I would like to see a mad rush of animals as it is hard to kill off some of the little critters now because of the BLEEDING HEARTS that some of these critters are cute...

I don't like the idea of NPCs either, but if the grid system is implemented I think it will be easier for bandits to avoid the justice and thus making it a bit more dangerous to walk around the world.

As it is know the evil people tend to have really short lives unless they have a ship or are armed to the teeth.

Closest thing we will ever have to NPC's are newbies.

The staff places animals some times when the populations get low, but often the animals increase incredibly in ammount when they build up, reproducing but not being killed. Like in places where nobody ever goes.

Oh how I long to ride freshly broken in horse, herding in a dozen or so deers.....so they can be brutally and quickly slaughtered by people waiting with sabres.
