Post a ... - find a ...

Postby Junesun » Thu Feb 24, 2005 8:16 pm

Since the picture thread is so popular and fast-moving, let's take this a level higher: same concept but you can post anything, a name, a quote, a date, even a picture (--> more difficult to research), and the rest will have to find out what you are referring to, i. e. an event/person/organisation/work... of importance.

For example somebody could request "Woodstock" and the rest would have to figure out that he's referring to the famous rock festival and not to the relatively unknown towns by that name. Well, Woodstock is probably a bit too easy; I doubt there are any Americans who haven't heard of it... but how'bout...

Haizhou. A tip: this is related to the news.

Is it the mine where there was the recent gas explosion in China?

If so - then who said this:

"Either you repeat the same conventional doctrines everybody is saying, or else you say something true, and it will sound like it's from Neptune."

(extra points if you didn't get it from goiogle...)

I don't know but I'll guess. Frank Zappa comes to mind for some reason.

Yes you were right about the mine, Farmer... so that quote it is... I think we should mark questions in bold. Makes them easier to find amongst comments.

Kennedy shot in Dallas, 1963.

New one: 7th of july. Think sports.

EDIT: Darn too late for thinking up a new one... Anyway yours was the title of the new Thunder album, razor.

Too hard for you guys, huh? Well here's the extra hints:
- almost all Dutchmen remember this event;
- some Germans may remember this event;
- none but a few enthousiasts elsewhere remember it.

July 7th, 1974: Germany becomes world soccer champion for the second time, beating the Netherlands 2:1 .

If that's what you meant: "Je me souviens"
